Envirofone – What it is for and Why to use it

The UK’s number 1 online mobile phone site envirofone.com have paid out over £4 million to its users, and thousands of pounds more are paid out weekly. The mobile phone site is free to use, pays you cash for your old mobile and helps the environment too.

There are over 80 million old lying around in the UK alone – with an estimated value of £1.6 billion. That’s enough money to pay for 3 new NHS hospital developments, which is a considerable sum, taking into account that these phones are out of order or simply just not in use.

Last year envirofone.com was able to donate £300,000 to eligible charities across the UK by recycling working and non-working mobile phones, which were purchased from phoneholders throughout the country. That’s right. The phone recycling company do not expect a typical donation – envirofone.com have listed over 1200 mobile phone models, set up freepost system (including a free courier service for 4 or more old mobile phones) and can offer up to 90% of the phone’s original retail price.

The freepost is available to send as many phones to the dealing as the envelopes can fit. But considering that you’ll be expected to forward any available accessories, it is best to take advantage of the courier service if there are more than 4 phones to post. However, if you want to reduce your carbon footprint, envirophone.com advise that if the freepost envelope is too small, log on to their website and via your personal account, request a trade pack by simply clicking on “Order Trade Pack”. From the same site envirofone.com offer freepost address labels to the dealership, which are available to download from the “My Account” section of the website and supply a unique barcode (to identify your account) that can be stuck onto a preferred package – that is if you want to use a recycled or a more eco-friendly alternative.

What if my phone is damaged or faulty? The company will be able to offer a specified value for ANY phone, in perfect condition or in fact faulty. However, envirofone.com will require it to be sent to their dealership in order to process its worth. Here it will be tested upon arrival and an offer will be sent via email; where an appropriate link will be supplied to accept or decline the offer.

There are regulatory terms and conditions set in place to ensure the ‘business’ side of this firm keeps ticking, but, in general, over 90% of all mobile phones traded in with envirofone.com meet these requirements. Better still, if they are not able to offer you a satisfactory offer for your handset, envirofone.com will happily recycle your phone free-of-charge.

There are just a few precautions to take before rushing off to the nearest computer and registering. The freepost delivery is set up to receive your phones, but the firm does not take responsibility to any module damaged in transit, and will not pay any contribution to insuring the post or securing its delivery – so send those which are happy to go.
The last word is to remember when forwarding your old mobile phone, remove your SIM card – as this can contain personal information. The team at envirofone.com warn that they destroy these cards on site (if received) so will be unable to return them, but it is probably best to avoid any risk and remove them yourself.
