Bottled water

I wonder if people worry about having to carry around a bottle, maybe thinking that it’s somehow tatty to do so. It’s fine to carry around a bottle! Think about the old days, when possessions meant more, and were more lasting. Carrying round a nice drinking bottle is a fine thing to do. What’s wrong with having permanent possessions? It’s only a new thing to have throwaway items.

Think about Arabs in the desert, with water carriers, bladders, or army officers with metal canteens. It’s a stand-up thing to carry with you, in my opinion!! ha ha

Cool. Yeah there’s a post about Unity in the ’Bank Accounts’ section of the forum, which is helpful. I didn’t realise they had a mastercard. Great news. I’m a big fan of Unity since reading about them.
Leonardo Dicaprio

Ha ha, yeah I heard that he was gonna team up with the Four Seasons Resorts to make the hotel in the Caribbean. Didn’t hear anything else so not sure if it’s been done?

I think Dicaprio also has an eco ’condo’ in NYC as well

I’m seriously considering getting one a Citroen C1 EV. The main thing is it’s a 4 seater and has 60-70 miles on a charge which seems.. decent. 90p a charge from a 13amp socket. It’s pricey-ish though, in terms of top speed (60mph) I’m not too fussed, I’m sort of resigned to that speed in an electric like this, 80 would be nice but it’ll do.

Which publishers are best?

I just discovered, AK Press- they publish a load of books on feminism, green issues, eco, critical theory etc etc- they print on recycled paper and with soy inks. They’re a really good publisher for reading about environmental politics.

I’ve just been having a look at some of the big publishers- Random House(big UK publisher)’s carbon footprint is just below 7000 tonnes a year! Couldn’t even find any information on Faber and Faber’s site.. not looking good for the big publishers so far!
I’ll report back when I find out more..

Green Books publish loads on environmental issues. Their paper and covers are 75-100% recycled, and they use vegetagle inks. Accrdng to their website their printers are all 150 miles from their offices (Devon, England) and they don’t print overseas.
