How to use our Eco Forum- I’m here to help!
Posted at: 2009-05-21 18:32:33
Hi, I’m Trisha

I’m here to help or discuss any matter you wish to raise in this GENERAL environmental section.

If you have specific questions or posts, which don’t fall within the Eco Forum category, put them here and I’ll do my best to answer them!

I’m very passionate myself about environmental issues and have already contributed quite a few articles to EcoSwitch, which you can do as well if you have something to add.

Let me know if you need anything or if you need any help.

Take care

Trish x

Thoughts about Global Warming and eco books to check out!

This is a topic which I find really interesting as there is so much evidence everywhere to suggest Global Warming and Climate Change is really happening. Can you believe it, some are still in denial thinking that Climate Change isn’t real?

For starters, get yourself a copy of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) report where scientists throughout the world unanimously concede Climate Change is now the biggest threat to humankind. If you don’t believe them, you might want to take heed to David Attenborough’s comment,’Climate Change is the major challenge facing the world’. He was recently voted Britain’s most trusted man so do you trust him? He’s probably travelled and seen more than anyone in the world (well Michael Palin is up there too!).

If you still doubt it, just read the Atlas of Climate Change by Kirstin Dow and Thomas E Downing or read Al Gore’s book An Inconvenient Truth! That will shed a lot of light for you. You can get them through this website as well.

If you still need convincing about Climate Change, there is one argument which you can’t ignore. We all know for a fact that we have finite resources, so do we not have a responsibility to manage them wisely? If you subscribe to this point of view, then there is no reason for us not to all start making small changes. We stopped CFC and the hole in the ozone layer problem. I believe we can do the same with our dwindling oil resources by switching to a greener lifestyle (yes I do love Ecoswitch for helping us with that)!
