It’s not quite the same thing but I think if you bring your child into contact with nature at an early age they’ll be more likely to have an inclination towards that side of the world, and an interest in nature.
I’ve been using a Brooks saddle which dates back to the 60s- it’s still perfect! Absolutely comofortable (it’s not a wide, springed model, but a thin racing one).
They last a lifetime, I swear! Very eco in my opinion!
So I’m moving from one rented apartment to another. It’s a local move so I might not need a car- just a few trips with a shopping cart, although maybe that’s a little too hopeful.
The thing is I don’t know what to do with all my re-claimed, re-cycled, and ’salvaged’ things… I have all these glass jars that I’ve saved, for a start, and aside from being tricky to transport, I’m not sure there’ll be enough room in my new place.
What should I do? Any tips? I don’t want to throw thus stuff away (obviously), and I’d rather still have access to these materials myself. I would prefer not to take the glass to a recycling bank because I see them as being more useful to people in their current jar form.
I suppose I should donate them to somebody, or to an organisation.
Anyone else had similar problems when moving??
Has anyone seen, or stayed in, eco-accommodation that has more of a high-tech feel to it, for instance, modernist design and eco-technology incorporated in the place- rather than the rustic types of rural accommodation which usually spring to one’s mind when one thinks of eco-accommodation??
I’m very curious. Especially as I’d like to visit some cities over the next year or so, and, figuring that there wouldn’t be much of the ‘rustic’ eco places to stay in in urban locations, I got curious about the city and metropolitan alternatives.
You know, it *might* be a sensitive issue, talking about how other people raise their kids.
It’s just, I’d never want to raise my child on pesticides, chemicals, artificial things.. Looking at a new born baby, such a pure and original being, I’d die rather than somehow taint that wonderful, new, fresh and pure bundle of joy!
